Meta Quest headset owners are reportedly set to grace the virtual reality dancefloors as “Just Dance VR: Welcome to Dancity” is officially coming to Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest 2 on October 15, 2024.
The new installment will reportedly feature user avatars that users can fully customize, a Dancity social hub, and a virtual “apartment” where users can dance with up to 6 other players and engage in different activities.
Welcome to Dancity has 360-degree landscapes and what Ubisoft touts as all-new gameplay with two-handed scoring. At debut, users will dance to 25 hit and original songs, including “Lights” by Ellie Goulding and “Volar” by Lele Pons ft. Susan Diaz and Victor Cardenas.
Another interesting title coming to Meta Quest is Skydance’s Behemoth. The company recently released its gameplay trailer for PSVR 2, which is expected this fall.
The teaser depicts the many weapons that players can wield, including a sword, bow, and arrow and the character’s bare hands. The game’s initial look also shows behemoths that appear to trample and destroy everything in sight, which is horrifying and impressive to witness in a VR headset.
The game’s backdrop depicts a plague-ravaged wasteland once home to a powerful empire. However, its population was driven insane, and its cities fell into ruin. Skydance’s Behemoth, which takes place in the Forsaken Lands, is described as “your gauntlet and hunting ground.”
Meta Connect 2024
Meta’s Quest Headset will continue getting interesting updates, as Meta Connect 2024 is scheduled for September 25 to 26 this year.
Meta Connect 2024 is expected to disclose progress toward the company’s long-term objective of aiding in the creation of the metaverse and examine the future of AI and mixed reality.
Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg is anticipated to reveal the Meta Quest 3s (or Quest Lite) during Meta Connect 2024, just as he did with the Quest 3 at Connect 2023.
This year, Meta launched its Horizon OS, an open-source operating system, and agreements with ASUS ROG and Lenovo, both of which vowed to build their own VR headsets. As a result, they may take the stage at Meta Connect to display their new equipment.
Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses
As Meta Connect 2024 approaches, Meta continues to expand its mixed reality ventures. An update to the company’s Ray-Ban smart glasses enabled it to submit Instagram stories directly, eliminating the need for a phone.
The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses upgrade arrived a month after the wearable device’s AI was updated. The highly superior Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses were introduced in April and feature an ultra-wide 12 MP camera and integrated audio.
It includes an AI assistant that helps users create, communicate, and complete tasks. Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses allow users to observe real-time data and operate them with voice commands.
