He joined the Group in 2025, bringing 20+ years of global leadership experience in banking, insurance, and technology. Görkem has held various senior executive roles including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Analytics Officer, and COO at ING Group, where he led large-scale digital and AI transformations while also representing the banking sector at the European Commission for the formulation of the EU AI Act.

Most recently, he founded Prometa.ai, a company whose team of expert data scientists helps businesses across industries from financial services to healthcare transform their customer propositions and journeys and redesign operating models using agentic AI.
Görkem holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, and an International MBA from TSM Business School in the Netherlands.
