Report by Microsoft partner also found that high adopters of generative AI are improving their interpersonal skills.

High adopters of generative AI are more productive and 89 per cent are more efficient at problem solving, according to a new report from Microsoft partner Project Management Institute.

The report, titled First Movers’ Advantage: The Immediate Benefits of Adopting Generative AI for Project Management, also found that high adopters of generative AI are strengthening their interpersonal skills and creativity. This is because they use the technology to understand more complex tasks such as data analysis, planning and risk management. These high adopters are three times more likely to strengthen their skills compared to low adapters of generative AI.

High adopters are also seeing positive impacts on project aspects, such as scope, schedule, and cost and quality management.

“Our research shows that generative AI trailblazers know how to maximise adoption to elevate their performance, navigate complex work and usher in generative AI across their teams,” said Pierre Le Manh, project manager professional, president and CEO of PMI. “They’re standing out from their peers for their innovative leadership. We want to ensure project professionals who haven’t yet added this technology to their toolbox can quickly get up to speed and benefit from generative AI given its exponential growth.”
