“The Union Budget 2025 underscores the potential of digitisation in education and provides the framework for futuristic growth. Rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation have necessitated the upskilling of the Indian workforce to maintain their relevance in the industry. Hence, the establishment of three AI centres backed with an investment of 500 crores will position India as the next-generation hub for AI research.
The announcement of establishing five National Centres for Excellence in Skilling and setting up Atal Tinkering Labs in schools will not only catalyse innovation and entrepreneurship but also play a crucial role in making the workforce job-ready and aligned with industry needs.
The introduction of broadband connectivity in all government secondary schools and primary healthcare facilities reaffirms the government’s commitment to addressing the critical issues of access and digitalisation in education. This step will ensure equal opportunities for all and pave the way for a digitally inclusive society.
Other measures, such as the Fund of Funds for startups, the deep tech fund of funds, and an extension of benefits under 80 IAC to all eligible startups incorporated before 1 April 2030, demonstrate the government’s commitment to foster a thriving startup ecosystem and will boost entrepreneurship in the country.”
