Integra Technologies, an AWS Advanced Consulting partner based in Dubai, supported Petronash, a global leader in oilfield equipment manufacturing and services, in a successful migration of its on-premises SAP and non – SAP infrastructure and applications to AWS and in modernizing them. With this strategic move, Petronash has enhanced performance, scalability, and security while optimizing operational costs.
The applications are mission-critical for its business and need to be resilient, highly available, scalable and performant. The oil and gas industry dominates the Gulf region and operating in such a demanding environment necessitates managing various aspects of business processes. The recent transition has enabled the corporation to run 95 percent of its IT infrastructure on AWS, reducing operational costs by 35 percent. It has also reported a 30 percent improvement in SAP application performance.
The project has been hailed as a success by the Petronash management team. “Using AWS has modernized our IT infrastructure, enhanced operational excellence, and reduced our dependence on a single data center for all locations,” said Kalyan Sagiraju, Global Head of IT and Business Systems.
Integra Technologies advised Petronash to use the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) to assess migration suitability. Using MAP, Petronash was able to assess the suitability of migrating its workloads onto AWS and determine the cost and benefits of doing so. To implement this initiative, the project teams collaborated to plan, test, and execute a multi-stage migration to AWS.
“We are honoured that Petronash entrusted us with this migration and modernization project. The transition to AWS helped them embrace modernization, optimize productivity, foster better business agility, and ensure continuity in operations through high system availability.’’ said Rajesh Soman, Founder & CEO at Integra Technologies. “AWS provides an ideal platform for running SAP workloads, delivering unmatched reliability, scalability, and security to meet enterprises’ evolving needs.’’ added Rajesh Soman. The use of GenAI using Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Sagemaker to automate parts of its business processes helps increased efficiencies and attain business KPIs.
Businesses should have modern and secure IT infrastructure that supports their business growth. Utilizing a structured approach, as prescribed by AWS in its MAP methodology, Integra Technologies assisted Petronash by addressing the various technical, operational, and financial challenges organizations face when migrating workloads. AWS MAP breaks down cloud migration into three phases—assessing, mobilizing, and migrating and modernizing. This phased approach ensures that organizations follow a proven step-by-step method, avoiding common pitfalls and delays
In a highly competitive industry, this migration and modernization will help Petronash achieve sustained growth, reliable and secure infrastructure, and create modern, innovative business processes.
